Staying up to date on developments in any field is a challenge, especially if you have to teach about them in your classes. For map use and mapmaking, we’ve done the work for you. The 9th edition of the textbook classic, Map Use, shares the latest in map projections, coordinate systems, and land partitioning and records systems, as well as terrain mapping, imagery in mapping, and uncertainty and accuracy in mapping. With three chapters devoted to map design, it also includes information about web mapping, multivariate mapping, and dynamic and interactive mapping. Behind the scenes, subject area experts collaborated with us to assure that the content is as up-to-date and accurate as possible. Available in both e-book and print format, the text is both affordable and accessible to wider audiences. In this talk, I explain some of the most recent developments in mapping and cartography, as well as the steps took to guarantee that the latest edition of the Map Use textbook is the definitive source for the most up-to-date information about the current state of cartography.
